A true reverse grid based on quallifying time not true skill rank. Drivers will have to wait at the finish line on the fourth lap for everyone to call out their fast lap time and then cross the finish line in the order of slowest to fastest.

3 points will be awarded for the fastest quallfying lap (overall, not just per room)

In the cases where we run two races at one track, the second race will be kept at lobby points and the grid order will be a combination of lobby points from the qually session and the points from the race.

Room placment will be based on Championship Standings.

That was exactly what I was thinking: full sim = no ABS. Sounds like fun either way though.

Oh, and is it A850 or S998? Both are mentioned in the OP. To be determined yet, I suppose?

yeah, it's a delicate balance between full sim and getting enough people to join the series,

It looks like it's going to be S998, ABS Allowed and Racing line allowed.

I should have the build posted this evening.

This car is a kick in the pants to drive at the higher PI. You get lots of wheelspin if you hit the throttle too hard, but it doesn't upset the car really.

I agree, the wheel spin is going to be the factor for this series, you really have to learn when to get back on the throttle. It's definitely a lot of fun to drive.

Sounds good..... abs and racing lines are optional? I'm in depending on the day/time... and I might be able to get Boogie to halfway commit to this one too, since it will be A or S class

yeah, I know some, including me, want full sim, but not at the cost of people participating in the series. BlckNotch and I thought it would be more important to have people participate than to stick to full sim.

So, yeah, so far ABS and Racing Line are going to be optional for this series.

Based on my read of the BTCC's official rules and regulations it appears that no driving aids of any kind are allowed.

yes, but I am sure that they don't specify that a line that follows the racing line and changes colors to tell you when to brake is not allowed.

Those Britains didn't think of that did they. Razz

You;d think it'd be as simple as adding telemetry, GPS and a head's up display. Then again if you need a red braking line in real-life you probably shouldn't be racing.

True... but I think we would loose a large chunk of our racers if we turned off the line... plus it's good to have a reminder in those tight races to avoid collisions as much as possible

So is this to mean people that wish to use the line shouldn´t have this game at all?

I use the line. Does that mean I shouldn´t be here or anywhere near the game? Comments like that really irk me.

i don't think he means that at all - Very Happy i think he is just talking about a real life situation - if you're racing a real-life race car, you probably shouldn't be using a GPS unit and a HUD device with a racing line.

This games gives us the option of enjoying something none of us would probably really get to go do.

If I took the comment out of context I appologize.

I don´t think less of anyone because of how they race in this game unless its for poor or unsporting behaviour. I have read alot of posts on the FMS board with idiots flaming drivers that use aids or, god forbid, use awd and that stuff really pisses me off.

Its just a game for crying out loud. LOL

yep, you're exactly right and like we always say, we should be enjoying ourselves while we're doing this - I know it's a big stress reliever for me.

And that's why I'm always willing to compromise between what I'd like for a series (no racing line for increased challenge) and what others would prefer to do so they can enjoy the game. I realize now that the line is used by a lot of people for a lot of good reasons (not rear-ending someone in a close race for example).

Post  ISRC Bigfoot Sun Oct 05, 2008 1:03 pm

Yeah sorry....I didn't mean any offense. I used to race on a small scale in real life. That's what I was referring to. In my very first race I went into the first corner so hot that I blew through the turn, took two cars with me, and hit a dirt berm so hard the frame got bent. I went through 3 full parts cars in my first month and my car owner (My Dad) was ready to pull the plug before I finally started to learn how to apex a corner and be more patient.

Long story short, In real life racing...it's all about 'feel' when you're in the car. It's something a braking line, if available, would never replace or compensate for. My point was, because you CAN'T really 'feel' a virtual car in Forza, the braking line is kind of important.

Apologies if I didn't communicate that very well. I'm just a guest here and the last thing I want to do is shit on somebody else's lawn.

The only restriction I ask for is "Canadians off" Razz Just joking K....yeah, because I never really turn my tv up that loud, and there really is no true feedback from the controls, I admit that I do use the line to help me "feel" the car a bit. I can race without it, I just need to put a lot more practice time in for each race...and with work and now school full time...I just wouldn't be interested in spending that much time preparing for a race....I really don't care what the other restrictions are, the only assist I ask for is the line, all my mechanical assists are off anyway. Bottom line....FSR has some very fast drivers, and I'm sure the guys at ISRC are fast as well; doesn't mater who's using what for assists, fast is fast. And when you get 8 fast guys in a room, running side by side, no racing line or assists are gonna help you avoid wrecks while staying quick, and that seems to be what will get you the win in our FSR series.

I'm interested, but it will depend on the night and time.

As far as assists, I mentioned in another post my preferences for no assists at all, but I race with the guy's (and gal) at EXODUS RACING where assists are a big no no, so I get my kicks there. I don't have any problem with others using whatever they want to use to enjoy this game, as I don't think they have a problem with me not using any assists. Enjoy yourself and let others do the same.
